I made a decision to take friday (the next day off) at about 6:00 pm, got onto a train at 7 pm, and arrived at Matsumoto 2.5 hours later.  Guess what, the place that I picked in the last minute wasn't bad at all.  You can enjoy all of the following for only about 6,000 yen.

Matsumoto is a small but relatively pretty city (in Japanese standard). I like the river that flow through the city especially.  If you look carefully in the pictures below you will see 3 ducklings playing on the river side.
